Living in a situation of poverty means not having money to meet your basic needs, such as housing, food, clothing and transportation. It means living on a very meagre budget with no buffer for unexpected expenses. It means worrying about the future, being under constant stress, and often suffering from isolation.

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is an opportunity for everyone to really talk about this reality that affects many more people in Greater Montreal than we think. This year is an especially relevant time to do so when inflation has hit a 30-year high and Montreal has plunged into a major housing crisis.
